Sleepy Hollow High School – the high school back parking lot is located off of Rte 448. Coming from Broadway/Rte. 9 take 448 (Horseman diner on corner – 276 N Broadway) and the parking lot is a few hundred feet on the right. You can walk down to the race start.
Bag check
Participant bags may be left at baggage claim located in the village parking lot. While a volunteer will be present by the table/bags during the event, WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST OR STOLEN ITEMS.
Course
The course is challenging, scenic and fun! The course is marked by black arrows on bright green backing. The race begins at the top of Beekman Ave heading west towards the river into Hudson Harbor entering the Riverwalk at Pierson Park and continuing along the river back to Hudson Harbor and into Ichabod’s Landing to return to the riverfront through GM lot past the Historic Lighthouse and into Kingsland Point Park. From the park, the course enters Philipse Manor and then into Sleepy Hollow Manor leading out into Phelps Hospital with an out and back down rte 117 alongside the Rockefeller State Park Preserve. After returning from 117 there is a short loop in the New York Life complex exiting back towards the river through Kendal, Phelps and returning into the Manors. The final part of the course brings you out of Philipse Manor across rte 9 up Pocantico Street and back to Beekman Ave for the finish.
Hydration Stations
Water and Gatorade will be provided throughout the course beginning at mile 3 and then at approximately every 2 miles thereafter.
Facilities
There will be porta-sans located at the race start/finish in the village parking lot. Porta-sans will also be located on the course at approximately mile 1 and miles 6 / 9.
Results
Race results will be posted same day on the Rivertown Runners website at www.rivertownrunners.org. Pictures from the race will also be available on the website.
Directions
TRAIN
Take the Metro North Hudson Line to the Tarrytown Station. From the station go left down Depot Plaza/Courtland St. heading towards McDonalds, then Cortland St. up to Beekman Ave. There will be race volunteers posted at the station (exit train on east side – opposite the river) to assist you.
DRIVING
From the East:
Take 287 West
Take EXIT 9 toward US-9/TARRYTOWN/SLEEPY HOLLOW.
Turn LEFT onto WHITE PLAINS RD/RT-119/TARRYTOWN-WHITE PLAINS RD.
Turn RIGHT onto S BROADWAY/US-9.
From the West:
Take 287 East/I-87 S/NEW YORK STATE THRUWAY S/TAPPAN ZEE BRIDGE (Portions toll).
Take EXIT 9 toward US-9/TARRYTOWN/SLEEPY HOLLOW.
Turn RIGHT onto S BROADWAY/US-9.
From Manhattan:
Take I-87 N towards ALBANY (Portions toll).
Take EXIT 9 toward US-9/TARRYTOWN/SLEEPY HOLLOW.
Turn LEFT onto WHITE PLAINS RD/RT-119/TARRYTOWN-WHITE PLAINS RD.
Turn RIGHT onto S BROADWAY/US-9.
